The Community Water Systems Alliance has defined a set of legislative and regulatory priorities for 2021.
Current Legislative Priorities and Focus
- Sponsor/support legislation creating a compliance period in meeting new CR6+ MCL
- Advocate for regional solutions for small systems by sponsoring a bill aimed at providing resources to small systems through larger systems on a reimbursement basis by the state.
Current Regulatory Priorities and Focus
- Track and comment on SWRCB’s standard setting procedures relating to PFAS/PFOA.
- Track activity associated with a standard for Perchlorate.
- Develop case studies to highlight successful partnerships and best practices between large and small systems.
- Track activity of the SAFER group to ensure funding equity for small water systems
